Restylane
Restylane is a Swedish product that consists of a sterile gel made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) that can correct wrinkles and shape facial contours.Wrinkles occur because of age, tanning, smoking, genetics and other external factors. The scientific explanation is reduced elasticity and less subcutaneous fat under the skin through reduced production of skins own building blocks, collagen and hyaluronic acid.
Treatment
The gel is injected under the skin using a thin needle. It then fills out gaps to correct lines, wrinkles and folds in the face, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. A local anesthetic is administered for lip enhancements; otherwise none is required unless requested by the client.
The treatment only takes 30 minutes.
Following the injection, a slight redness may occur, as well as swelling and sensitivity. However, these symptoms will all pass in a few days.
How long do Restylane’s results last?
The results are instantly visible and usually last for four to six months depending on the individual. Since Restylane is like the skin’s own support substances, it is eventually broken down and absorbed by the body. Follow-up treatments help maintain the desired effect and Restylane works perfectly in combination with Botox for optimal results.
